Home Work
Like any skill... The more you practice, the better you get.  Do your homework weekly as
scheduled, set a personal goal to improve upon last weeks HW.  I promise you, you will
notice an improvement!!!...

You must help me, help you.  If you don't give anything, don't expect anything.  Success will
not come to you, you must go to it.

HW
1 pts.
Powerful - Capable
0pts.
Poor - Unacceptable
Significant amount of time... Minimum of 1hr into each picture (No
matter your skill level, if you spend a significant amount of time
drawing, outside of class, you WILL NOTICE an improvement!
It's up to you.)

Must be presentable, no folds, wrinkles or stains.  No lined paper.

Must use Reference material.
WORK FROM OBSERVATION
, either real life or photos.

NO TRACING

Can you walk across the room from your drawing and still see all
the detail?

Don't leave to much negative space in your picture.  The balance
of void (negative) and used (positive) space is important.  AKA -
don't draw to small, fill your page!

Show your creativity by being original!!!

Make sure your picture has depth and is well shaded, by using
lights and darks in your shading.

Try and get rid of "outlines" and create edges by placing two
different values next to each other.

Think about your background... Will value in your background help
you to get rid of "outlines"?  Will objects in the background
distract from your subject?

ART II STUDENTS MUST USE COLOR ... Some
how, some way.... Pencil with a touch of color is
OK, or full color is fine.
